For sellers
Legal check
One of our lawyers reads your property’s title papers and gives an opinion on the title.
In My listings, open your listing. The legal check is under Verification.
- Who can ask
The seller, on their own listing. Send your ownership papers first: the lawyer starts once one of your title papers is accepted.
- What it costs
A fixed fee, shown on the button before you pay. If we can’t take the check on, the fee is refunded in full.
It’s optional. Asking never stops your listing publishing.
- What happens after
You see the opinion on your listing. A clear title, or a sound one with a note, earns your listing the Legal badge.
If the lawyer finds a serious problem with the title, your listing comes off the site until our team reviews it. If it isn’t live yet, it can’t go live until then. Our team then either puts it back, with a note on its page that a lawyer raised concerns, or tells you what to fix.
- What it isn't
The opinion is the lawyer’s, given on the papers they were shown. It is not a guarantee of title.
