How pricing works
Some jobs have a price. Some cannot, and we say so.
Every service here is one of two kinds, and you are told which before you book. Pretending the second kind is the first is how a quote doubles on the day.
Fixed price
You see the amount first
A service with a known shape and a known duration. An AC service, a standard deep clean, a pest control treatment for a two-bedroom flat. The price is on the booking, and it is the price.
Visit, then quote
Somebody looks before anybody promises
Waterproofing a terrace, tracing a leak, rewiring an old flat. Nobody can price these from a photograph honestly. You pay a stated visit charge, you get an itemised quote, and you decide.
The visit charge is shown before you book it, and it is the only thing you are committing to at that point.

Who turns up
A name and a face, sent before the doorbell.
You are letting somebody into your home, often when you are there alone. That is a bigger act of trust than most property transactions and it usually gets far less care.
So before a visit you get the name and photograph of the person coming. Their identity has been checked against that photograph — the same second check a seller goes through here, not a lighter version of it.
And the number you speak to them on is not your number. Calls go through a middle number, so a tradesperson who visited once does not keep your line afterwards.
